This paper, using data related to micro-loans of an Iranian private (commercial) bank between 2012 and 2018, investigates the effects of the characteristics of the members of the branch credit committees (BCCs), especially gender, on loan quality. Because, the dependent variable (loan quality) is a discrete ordinal variable and based on the Brant test’s result the proportional odds assumption was violated, the generalized ordinal logit model was used. The results of this paper show that increasing the presence of women in BCC improves the quality of micro-lending. Based on the literature and related studies, a potential explanation for these results is that increasing the number of women in the BCC improves the compliance of the decision-making and lending processes with the credit guidelines and recommendations, increases the BCC risk aversion, and reduces the agency problem by improving monitoring in the BCC. Moreover, the results also show that the quality of micro-lending management by BCCs with a higher average age is poorer than that of a younger BCC, and the higher education of the BCC members improves micro-lending quality.}, keywords = {Gender differences,men,Women,branch credit committee (BCC),loan quality}, title_fa = {آیا حضور زنان در کمیته اعتباری شعبه ها مهم است؟ شواهدی از یک بانک خصوصی ایرانی}, abstract_fa = {ادبیات مالی اخیر استدلال می‌کند که تفاوت‌های جنسیتی بین زن و مرد وجود دارد که بر تصمیم گیری و عملکرد مالی آنها تأثیر می گذارد. در این مقاله، با استفاده از داده‌های مربوط به تسهیلات خرد یک بانک خصوصی ایرانی بین سال‌های 1391 تا 1397، اثر مشخصات اعضای کمیته اعتباری شعبه‌ها (با تمرکز بر جنسیت) بر کیفیت تسهیلات بررسی می شود. به دلیل اینکه متغیر وابسته (کیفیت تسهیلات) یک متغیر ترتیبی گسسته است و از سوی دیگر فرض رگرسیون‌های موازی نیز نقض شد، از الگوی لاجیت ترتیبی تعمیم‌یافته استفاده گردید. نتایج این تحقیق نشان می‌دهد که افزایش حضور زنان در کمیته اعتباری شعبه‌ها کیفیت تسهیلات خرد را بهبود می‌بخشد. بر اساس ادبیات، یک توضیح بالقوه برای این نتایج این است که افزایش تعداد زنان در کمیته یادشده، تطبیق فرآیند تصمیم گیری و پرداخت تسهیلات با رهنمودها و توصیه های اعتباری را بهبود می بخشد، ریسک گریزی کمیته مذکور را افزایش می دهد و با بهبود نظارت در کمیته یادشده، مشکل نمایندگی را کاهش می دهد. علاوه بر این، نتایج نشان می دهد که کیفیت مدیریت تسهیلات خرد تصویب شده توسط کمیته‌های اعتباری با میانگین سنی بالاتر، کمتر از کمیته‌های جوان تر است و تحصیلات بالاتر اعضای کمیته‌های اعتباری، کیفیت تسهیلات خرد را بهبود می‌بخشد.}, keywords_fa = {تفاوت‌های جنسیتی,مرد,زن,کمیته اعتباری شعبه‌ها,کیفیت وام}, url = {https://ijes.shirazu.ac.ir/article_6500.html}, eprint = {https://ijes.shirazu.ac.ir/article_6500_5e919efb5213b269fc32a96a53b4c54b.pdf} }
